a-Asakusa. Rainy afternoon at Asakusa. Had a ramen lunch at Naritaya, an Indonesian-owned halal restaurant. Coffee at Sekei, a Malaysian-owned cafe. Its a Southeast Asia diaspora day. Stayed at a jazzy Smile hostel across Sumida river. Morning after, we had a delicious brunch at a small kebab restaurant ran by a Turkish cook. So sedap. Enjoyed a matcha ice-cream treat across Asakasa station, before taking a train to Euno, Shibuya & Ginza. Tiring. People, big cities, hurried living, racing for having & consumerist utopia drain me. But hey, u dont go to Tokyo everyday. Plus Japan is an xcellent study of contradiction.
