Cymatics (technology of visualizing sound) may explain the reason behind the preference towards geometric language in many forms of Eastern tradition, including the arabesque design and its organic version in many forms of Malay visual tradition.
It is an excellent way to negate or suspend oneself from attachment to lower brain, lower consciousness, lower physical reality (illusion according to many spiritual traditions, and Einstein too!).
Its a good way to negate the root of suffering - ego, or total identification with a false sense of self, of identity, of separation, of differentiation. It is also an excellent way to tune our mind and heart to the higher frequencies, higher dimensions, to transcend the ego, of wanting, making the ego looses its grip on our soul.
Geometric language is a quantum language, as in many forms of visual tradition, including the visual manifestation of faith in Islamic visual tradition. It is the language of nature.
There is no such thing as 'revivalism' in such language, because it has been within and around us all along. Those who subscribe to such notion of revivalism is trapped by the external and Aristotle linear logic of time and space as moving in one direction, and absolute (like art history for example). This logic influences us to see tradition as archaic, old, irrelevant, unscientific, illogical, uncivilized, and all the stereotypical demeaning assumptions.
The preference towards quantum language in many forms of visual tradition also explains less preference to 'representational' or figurative form of visualization (based on Classical-Newtonian paradigm). Such preference towards the representational or the figurative is taken as the domain of the lower brain, lower consciousness, lower mind, lower frequencies - the playground of ego.
In contrast, quantum language is the playground of the mind-heart towards the spirit. To enter the playground, one must shed away one's attachment to ego.
